People come to psychotherapy for a variety of purposes and seeking varying levels of support.  Whether in crisis, moving through transition, or simply wanting to talk to someone in a safe environment, psychotherapy provides a place in which your needs can be heard and in which you can ultimately be seen for who you truly are.  Being heard and seen I believe are the ultimate building blocks for a healthy relationship, and psychotherapy in essence is just that — a relationship that can help you connect to your truest self and facilitate your most authentic way of moving through the world.

Here are some words I wrote that express how I view the practice of psychotherapy and its healing potential:

Here is where we meet
Two hearts, two minds, one moment in time
And then again
And again
You take a step closer
I hold you not too close
This is the most
Fertile place for us to see
For us to be
Here we meet under the protection of intention
Encouraging your petals to open
And then falling to the earth
They disintegrate in the rich soil
Of the work we’ve done
Taking with them your fears and blocks and holdings-on
Two hearts, two minds, at times may dance to different drums
But in this space our aim is one
Your happiness and your freedom
